Welcome to Blanny Ball

Hello and welcome to all baseball die-hards! I want to take the time to introduce myself and the blog before we start diving in to all the ball content. My name is Matthew Blandford and I am a 27 year old used car salesman in Scottsdale, AZ. This will all change soon though, as I am currently pursuing a career in the Fire Service in California.

I started this blog because my number 1 passion is truly baseball and everything that comes with it. The content I chose to write about will mostly be whatever I am most interested in throughout the sporting world at the time. The professional sports teams I follow are the San Fransisco Giants, Los Angeles Rams, Sacramento Kings, and the San Jose Sharks. I don't want to limit this blog to any specific niche because I have many interests that I would love to write about.

For example, my younger brother, Bobby is starting his senior year at Fresno State University. I have been following and supporting his team ever since he arrived on campus as a freshman. During their season I will be writing about the Bulldogs, MLB prospects (including Bobby), and the other happenings in the Mountain West Conference.

I love the scouting aspect of baseball as well. You may have noticed my video edit of Bobby on the homepage. This was a personal attempt to document my brother's college baseball career and it turned into something that I really enjoy doing. I began doing scouting reports and videos of opponents for him in an attempt to give him an edge for his play. Others found this content fairly useful so I now have gained experience in this realm of baseball that I believe is vital to the sport. As a former player, I will always be pro-player and advocate for the athletes giving their all to our beautiful game. If a player needs help getting their name out there, or an organization would like some scouting assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out!

The main content of Blanny Ball will be the San Francisco Giants. I want to write about in-depth analysis, news, predictions, recaps, and franchise history. The topic I am most excited to dive into is the franchise history portion. With the Giants being such a grand franchise, I really want to learn as much as I can about the past and all-time greats that donned a Giant uniform. I think it will help me paint a picture of the sport as a whole and give me a better understanding of the history of the game. In-depth analysis will happen year round with all my posts. I aim to use all the tools at my disposal in order to present my readers with solid information. With World Series Game 2 slated for tonight @ 5:08mst, majority of the 2024 Giants offseason content will begin after the Series is over. Some exciting headlines have already begun with the Giants as my favorite all-time Giant, Buster Posey, was named the President of Baseball Operations earlier this offseason. So, there may be content sooner than expected! Stay tuned for the start of two new series: Giants: A History and SF Giants 2024-2025 Offseason.
